GitHub Sponsors program allows open source contributors to accept donations

GitHub released the Sponsors program, which allows sponsors to directly sponsor open source contributors on the GitHub page. In order to promote sponsorship, GitHub also set a Matching Fund for the first year, up to 5,000 for each sponsored contributor. The US dollar, and the fee for sponsoring the gold flow, is also absorbed by GitHub.
